Tabling, door-knocking and street canvassing are the most important part of our fight to win community control of the police. Having real conversations with those who face the brunt of police tyranny in our city is how we won the passage of the ECPS ordinance in 2021. It’s also how we’re building the broad base of support needed to pass the referendum for Community Power Over Policing (CPOP), force Governor Pritzker to grant clemency for known survivors of police torture and wrongful conviction, and close the Broadview ICE facility.
Field work keeps us in touch with the needs of our communities, and it’s our most effective form of political education for our members to learn about our campaigns.
